Artem Polyvyanyy is an Associate Professor at the School of Computing and Information Systems, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, at the University of Melbourne (Australia), where he leads the Process Science and Technology research group. He is a Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee of the IEEE Task Force on Process Mining and the editor of and a contributor to the book entitled “Process Querying Methods.” Artem Polyvyanyy has a strong background in Theoretical Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Process Modeling and Analysis from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine), Hasso Plattner Institute (Germany), and the University of Potsdam (Germany).
In March 2012, he received a Ph.D. degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in the scientific discipline of Computer Science from the University of Potsdam (Germany). His research and teaching interests include Computing Systems, Distributed Systems, Process Mining, Process Querying, Artificial Intelligence, and Algorithms. Artem Polyvyanyy has published over 120 academic manuscripts, including book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, and refereed papers at international conferences. He has actively contributed to open-source initiatives that significantly impact research and practice, including Oryx and jBPT.
