Who are we?

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy the words “DBD Hub”, “we”, “our” and “us” refers to  ARC Digital Bioprocess Development Hub (DBD Hub).

Our commitment to protect your privacy

We understand how important it is to protect your personal information. This document sets out our privacy policy commitment in respect of any personal information we hold about you and what we do with that information. We recognise that any personal information we collect about you will only be used for the purposes we have collected it for or as allowed under the law. It is important to us that you are confident that any personal information we hold about you will be treated in a way which ensures protection of your personal information.

Our commitment in respect of personal information is to abide by the Australian Privacy Principles for the protection of personal information, as set out in the Privacy Act and any other relevant law.

Personal information

When we refer to personal information we mean information from which your identity is reasonably apparent. This information may include information or an opinion about you.

How we collect your personal information

When you access our website at http://digitalbioprocesshub.org.au/ via a browser, our servers may automatically record certain information. These server logs may include information such as your web request, GPS locations, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. You can delete cookies from your computer at any time on your internet browser. However, doing so may limit your use of some of the website’s features.

In addition if you complete and submit the contact form on the website contact page the information submitted will be emailed to a DBD Hub representative.

Do we disclose your personal information?

Your personal information is not disclosed to any third party organisation, unless:

  • we consider disclosure is necessary for the protection and wellbeing of a person;
  • we are otherwise permitted by law to disclose your information;
  • you have provided us consent.

We may store your personal information in paper and electronic form. We will also take reasonable steps to protect any personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. While we take all due care in ensuring the privacy and security of your information, the possibility exists that this Information could be unlawfully intercepted while in transit over the internet or while stored on our systems or on our website. We disclaim all liability to you to the greatest extent pursuant to law should this occur. We will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify information if it is no longer needed for the purpose for which the information was disclosed, or required to be held pursuant to any other legal requirement.

Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with how we have dealt with your personal information, or you have a complaint about our compliance with the Privacy Act, you may contact our Compliance Officer by writing to us at either:

We will acknowledge your complaint within seven days.

We will provide you with a decision on your complaint within 30 days. If you are dissatisfied with the response of our Compliance Officer, you may make a complaint to the Australian Information Commissioner who can be contacted on enquiries@oaic.gov.au, at www.oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
