Abel Armas Cervantes is a lecturer at the School of Computing and Information Systems at The University of Melbourne. Previously he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Queensland University of Technology, where he was part of the BPM Discipline, and a junior researcher at the University of Tartu, where he was part of the Software Engineering group.
He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Tartu in 2015. He was recipient of a best student paper award and co-inventor of two US patent applications. His research areas of interest include business process management, process mining, and social network analysis.
